The consumer rights described below apply to purchases made for purposes outside your business or profession. Any more protective mandatory rights that apply to your purchase remain available.
Withdrawing from a purchase of an existing original
If you buy an existing original at a distance, for example through our email-order process, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason.
The period expires 14 days after you, or someone you nominate other than the carrier, receive the artwork. If one order contains several goods delivered separately, it starts on receipt of the last goods. You may also withdraw before delivery.
Send an unambiguous statement to the email or postal address above. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. Sending your notice before the period expires meets the deadline. You do not need a return authorisation number, our permission or a particular reason.
Returning the artwork after withdrawal
Send the artwork to the return address above without undue delay and within 14 days after notifying us of withdrawal, unless we agree to collect it. Sending it before this period expires meets the return deadline.
You pay the direct return shipping costs for a change-of-mind withdrawal, provided we informed you of that obligation before purchase. If an artwork cannot normally be returned by post, we disclose the return cost or a reasonable estimate before you accept the offer. We pay return costs where the law requires us to, including applicable returns of defective goods.
Pack the artwork securely to protect it in transit. We recommend reusing suitable original packaging and choosing tracked shipping, but original packaging is not compulsory. Please keep evidence of dispatch.
You may handle the artwork as necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, as you could in a shop. Where we have given the required withdrawal information, you may be responsible for a demonstrable reduction in value caused by handling beyond that. We do not impose an automatic restocking fee or require the artwork to be unopened as a condition of withdrawal.
Refunds after withdrawal
We reimburse the amounts due without undue delay and within 14 days after receiving your withdrawal notice. For a full withdrawal, this includes the original standard delivery charge. We need not reimburse the extra cost of a more expensive delivery option you chose over the least expensive standard option we offered.
Unless we have offered to collect the goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we receive the goods or you provide evidence of having sent them back, whichever happens first. Receipt of the return does not start a new 14-day refund period.
We use the same payment method you used unless you expressly agree to another method. You do not incur a fee for the refund. We do not deduct Stripe processing charges from a statutory withdrawal refund or require you to accept store credit.
Personalised commissions
The statutory change-of-mind withdrawal right does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, where the legal exception applies. We explain the relevant exception in the offer before you commit to a qualifying commission.
Being handmade, unique or described as a commission does not by itself remove the withdrawal right. We assess the actual agreed personalisation. Any voluntary cancellation terms, deposits, revisions and approval stages are agreed by email before purchase.
This exception concerns change-of-mind withdrawal. You retain statutory rights if a personalised artwork is defective, does not match the agreed brief or is not delivered as required. A deposit or proof approval does not waive those rights.
Defective, damaged or incorrect artworks
LimeDeck is responsible for goods that do not conform to the contract under the applicable consumer-sales law. This includes both existing originals and commissioned physical artworks. A claim is not restricted to damage visible on arrival.
Under Slovak law, we are liable for defects present at delivery that become apparent within two years of delivery. A defect that becomes apparent during the applicable liability period is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we prove otherwise or that presumption is incompatible with the nature of the artwork or defect. Following the first remedy of a defect by repair, the liability period is extended by 12 months, once.
Notify us of a defect within two months of discovering it and before the applicable liability period expires. You can use email or post, or another channel permitted by law. Identify the artwork and describe the problem. An order reference or other evidence of purchase helps us identify the sale. Photographs can help, but we do not require them as the only way to make a claim.
We promptly give you written confirmation of your defect notice and state the period for remedy. That period will not exceed 30 days from the notice unless an objectively justified reason outside our control requires longer. If we reject responsibility, we give you our reasons in writing.
You may request repair or replacement, subject to the statutory rules on impossibility and disproportionate costs. We arrange an appropriate remedy free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. A one-of-a-kind original may not have an identical replacement; that does not remove your rights to other remedies.
You may be entitled to a proportionate price reduction or to end the contract and receive a refund where the statutory conditions are met. Examples include an unremedied or recurring defect, refusal of a remedy or a defect serious enough to justify an immediate remedy of that kind. A minor defect does not normally entitle you to end the contract; we bear the burden of proving that it is minor. We cover necessary costs as required by law and agree practical return or collection arrangements.
If you lawfully end the contract because of a defect, you return the artwork at our cost. Under the Slovak consumer-sales rules, we refund the purchase price within 14 days after receiving the artwork or evidence that you sent it back, whichever happens first. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise and bear the refund costs.
Damage caused solely by mishandling after delivery is not automatically a defect for which we are liable. We assess the actual cause and do not exclude lawful claims for faulty materials, inadequate packaging or non-conformity.
For unresolved complaints and alternative dispute resolution, see the terms and conditions.
