Nina

Ink portrait of Nina with bobbed hair and looping organic tubes across her face, wearing overalls against a dense field of stars

Nina is an original character born from my imagination and fragments of my dreams. She is a soul eater who exists somewhere between those dreams and reality.

Nina captures the souls of men and traps them within her form. No longer alive, they serve as a bridge, passing through her mind and traveling around her body. She cannot tolerate eyeballs and rejects them from her system, leaving the trapped souls in total darkness. The stars in the background represent shifting fragments of the lady I see in my dreams.

I brought this nightmare to life with archival ink and detailed cross-hatching. The organic tubes and knotted forms are part of my visual language, connecting the characters and holding their world together.
